The American Logistics Association (ALA) has a long history of being an effective and positive advocate for improved quality of life for the military and their families. The Hampton Roads (HR) ALA is a Chapter of the American Logistics Association (ALA).
The HR ALA Chapter has always been active in working with industry and resale with 25+ members on the board and 100+ National Members associated with Hampton Roads. We continue to work with store, area, and zone managers during their meetings to promote the benefits and support within the industry. We continue to provide informational updates to the local members such as store resets, base access and opportunities that may come up where industry is needed to support resale on short notice. This includes inviting leadership members from the military agencies as guest speakers to speak to the Hampton Roads Chapter.
We market the benefit through multiple events throughout the year to include: Luau Golf Event, HRALA Golf & Oyster Roast, HRALA Spring Gala, Women’s Luncheon, In addition, we pass out sample bags to the promote commissary benefit at multiple events such as Patriot Fest, NAS and Langley airshows, Operation Homefront Back to School, Virginia Beach Fallen Hero’s just to name a few.
The Hampton Roads Chapter raises funds throughout the year to proudly award scholarships, to several well-deserved children in the military community to continue their education. As a Chapter, we also continue to give support to the annual Honor & Remember Run for the Fallen and their Gold Star Banquet, Vets House, the USO, Military Family Festival & Appreciation Day, and Christmas outreach Assistance w/local Commissaries.
